Garden Planting Scotland
Plants are the living architecture of a space.
Structure, shelter and surfaces set out how a garden works. Planting decides how it feels. It brings texture, rhythm and movement, softens hard lines and ties the space back into the landscape around it.
We design planting alongside everything else, so trees frame the view from the dining table, borders soften the edge of a terrace and greenery wraps the kitchen and pergola. Where living plants struggle, realistic green walls and well-chosen planters carry the scheme through.
Designed for every season
Texture, rhythm and year-round interest
The elements we bring together to make planting part of the design, not an afterthought.
01
Planting with structure
Specimen trees, evergreen backbone and layered borders placed to frame the space, soften hard edges and hold interest through every season.
02
Living and evergreen walls
Vistafolia's realistic green walls bring instant, low-maintenance greenery to boundaries, pergolas and outdoor kitchens where planting can't easily grow.
03
Planters that belong
Architectural Cosapots planters, frost resistant and light enough to move, give terraces and courtyards planting exactly where it's needed.

Greenery where it's hard to grow
Green walls that stay green.
Shaded walls, covered areas and the space beside a kitchen or heater are often the hardest places to plant. Green walls bring them to life without watering or seasonal die-back.
Paired with real planting elsewhere, they let the whole space read as one green, considered garden.

Frequently asked questions
Do you design planting as part of a wider outdoor living project?
Yes. Planting is one of our five pillars, so we design it alongside shelter, heating, cooking and surfaces. That way the planting frames the spaces you actually use rather than being added at the end.
What plants work in a Scottish garden?
It depends on your site, exposure and soil, which is why we start with a consultation. We favour robust, seasonal schemes with an evergreen structure so the garden still looks considered through autumn and winter.
Can I have greenery where real plants struggle?
Yes. Vistafolia green walls are a good answer for shaded walls, covered areas and spaces beside kitchens or heaters, giving year-round greenery without watering.
Can I see planters and green walls before choosing?
Material samples and examples are on display at The Smokehouse, our showroom in Auchterarder. Book a visit and we'll walk you through the options.
